Tourism conversation

The necessity of learning a foreign language to communicate with other nations , the exploitation of resources and new technologies , cultural exchanges and trade lead human to be interested in gaining foreign language conversation skills.

Long since, Iran has been one of the major poles and significant international tourism due to having rich cultural and historical attractions. Based on the importance of tourism industry in the world today and the significant role   of it in foreign exchanges, it is so important to be proficient in tourism conversation.

It can be said that one of the most basic infrastructure and tourism development of the tourism industry is to meet the needs of foreign tourists. (Either vising our country or other countries)

Language is the main cornerstone of the relationship, meet daily needs and at higher levels, transfer of science and technology. So Teaching and learning are the main programs in every government.

A. The feature of tourism conversation skill

The definition of skill

This skill includes grammar, conversation, reading comprehension and writing. It will be possible to understand the needs of a tourist, communicate without intermediaries and transfer your ideas. Finally ready to attract in tourist labor market.

The main tasks skills

B. Promotion of language knowledge from base level, or higher in order to focus on the following objectives:

1. The ability to understand the concepts of listening and speaking skills
2. The ability to read texts and understand them
3. The ability to write and correspondence
4. Capabilities in daily conversations related to tourism

The necessity and importance of design skills. English is a tool of communication and international exchange. Without it, It isn’t possible to get considerable practical and scientific progress in any times of life.

C. The role and ability of graduate students:

Graduate students are able to work as highly effective members:

1. Daily and Tourism conversation
2. Correspondence tourism
3. Read and understand the contents of the prospectus and related items
4. Getting familiar with tourism industry
5. Cooperation and communication with agencies and tourist offices
6. Employment opportunities in the field of tourism after the acquisition of necessity skills

D. Duration of the courses and its principles:

The course consists of 22 theoretical -practical units. Each theoretical - practical course is equivalent to 20 hours. Duration of the course has been considered in 450 hours.

E. Conditions and principles acceptance:

1. General conditions
2. Basic language knowledge
3. Specific conditions
4. participate in an Entrance exam (Placement Test)

Each person has knowledge of second language skills. They may be weaker or stronger compared with others .it is necessary to get involved in placement test to be at the same level with other students. Placement test is a necessity based on Table 7.so placement test may not be required for those who have good language skills. In one hand, offering the same course is illogical, unscientific and non- educational for different students.On the other hand, some students may have to repeat some levels or it is not possible for them to present in the long-term. So Placement Test is necessary. It is obvious that applicants with any level of language skills and knowledge can join one of these courses. There is no need to have the name of students at all levels. Record attendance, scores or placement test will be sufficient to start.

F. Required documents to introduce candidates in the test:

1. A complete list of all applicants presented by institute (Sealed and signature of managing director)
2. The form of personal information with photo (Sealed and signature of managing director)
3. Photocopy of ID card certified by the Institute (Sealed and signature of managing director)
4. A 4 × 3 full-faced photo in order to issue an exam card
5. The original bank receipt
